The New Pilbara Economic Development Conference

The New Pilbara Economic Development Conference 2017 attracted more than 400 key community and business stakeholders to engage in discussion about the diversification of the Pilbara’s economic base and highlight emerging industries that have the potential to drive sustained economic growth across the Pilbara region.

Presented by the Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman and Onslow Chambers of Commerce, and opened by the Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC, the one day program on August 29th at the Hyatt Regency Perth featured presentations on the economic state of the region and investment priority areas.

Tony McRae, Chairperson of Pilbara Aboriginal Corporations and Enterprises (PACE) was one of the guest speakers at the conference, showcasing the positive work of the PACE members.
